Tell us that someone has died.
Use this page if a person who used GuardKin has died. You do not need an account, and nothing here has to be done today.
You can report a death even if you are not sure they had GuardKin. We will not tell you whether they did.
What to have ready

The name they used with their advisor, if you know it.

If you know the email address they used, add it. If you do not, leave it blank. You can still send the report.

A person on our team may write to you there. There is no automatic email.
A death certificateRequired
A PDF or a photo, up to 15 MB. We cannot finish a report without one, and one cannot be added after the report is sent. Have it ready before you start. If you do not have it yet, you do not need to send anything today.

What happens next
A person reads your report
When we receive it, this page shows a reference for your report. Keep it if you write to us. You get no automatic email. If we need more, a person on our team writes to the address you gave.
We match it to the person
We work out who they were and whether they used GuardKin. We do not tell you either way.
Their advisor signs off
The advisor who looks after their account reviews the report.
The advisor’s firm signs off
A firm administrator reviews it. This must be a different person from the advisor.
We give final approval
A death certificate has to be on file. Without one we cannot approve.
Then 72 hours pass
Nothing opens during this time, so that a mistaken report can still be stopped. After it, the person they named as executor can sign in to their own GuardKin and accept the role.
How long it takes. Steps 1 to 5 depend on people, including the advisor and the firm, and we do not promise a time for them. The only fixed wait is the 72 hours in step 6. We have not set a reply time for email either, so an email to support@guardkin.com may not be answered quickly.
What the executor can see
Only the records the person chose to release, one record at a time, while they were alive. The executor can read those records: a letter in full, where a will is kept, who to call. An account shows where it is held, not what is in it. A record the person did not release does not appear to the executor at all.
GuardKin does not contact the executor. The person who died should have told them. If you know who it is, you can tell them a report has been made.
